Branta Birding Lodge, overlooking Durankulak Lake, is situated close to the international motorway E-87, just one hour drive from Varna (in Bulgaria) and Constanta (in Romania); all major top birding locations along the Black Sea coast can be visited easily. This lakeside accommodation is located 5 minutes drive from the beach, 5 minutes walk from wetlands (with open pastures and farmlands around) and 3 miles from the Romanian border. It naturally follows that the headquarters of Bed & Birding franchise company is also based here.
Services:
The Lodge offers unique opportunities to watch many wintering Red-breasted Geese, most exciting spring and autumn migration and the exceedingly rare Pallas´s Gull at our very doorstep throughout the year. Lake Durankulak is also home to 120 pairs Paddyfield Warblers and many others mouthwatering birds. Terrace list includes big array of East-European specialities, too numerous to list. It is highly recommended to hire an experienced local bird guide. Branta Birding Lodge will assure you of all your birding needs. It is also possible to arrange a transfer from the closest airports (Varna or Constanta).
Guestrooms:
Branta Birding Lodge provides comfortable and clean birdwatching accommodation rated to 3-star quality; 10 two and three-bedded en-suite rooms as well as refreshment room (bar) and kitchen. All rooms are equipped with double glazed mosquito screened windows, air-conditioning, central heating, mini bar refrigerators, free Internet (wi-fi), and colour TV.
