Location: Pakalnes Vingis Lodge is perfectly located at the heart of Rusne Island, adjacent to the Nemunas Delta Regional Park. It is the largest Lithuanian Island and its surrounding flooded plains and mixed forests are the most important migration stopover site for many rare birds. Third largest Regional Park in Lithuania and one of the top birding sites in Baltic States, it is wonderful at any time of year, but especially during migration periods. On the flooded meadows, there are thousands of birds that stop over during migration, especially waders, ducks and geese. The White-tailed Eagles, Great Snipe and Aquatic Warblers being the main attraction of the area. There are also many other breeding birds including Grebes, Herons and Ducks, while Lesser White-fronted Geese, Spotted Eagles and even rare vagrants from East occur in spring, with an outstanding bird checklist of over 320 species recorded in the area.
Services: You will be very warmly welcome and treated at Pakalnes Vingis. A local English-speaking bird guide is available on request, able to present current updates on bird activity around the lodge and surrounding countryside. Transport, optics, tripods, observation towers and boats are available on request. Breakfast, packed lunch and dinner is provided to suit your needs and early breakfast is served in the dining room on request. Also a ship and boats are available on request for excursion in the heart of the Nemunas delta regional park and surrounding areas is provided by English speaking knowledgeable local expert.
Guestrooms: All twin-bedded and double-bedded rooms are spacious and airy, have private toilet and shower, free Wi-Fi internet connection, heating, fridge, TV and private pier at the Shore of Pakalnes River. A lobby with huge windows and furniture is available in rainy days.
