Stone Farm is an historic building dating from 1820 situated on the island of Vinalhaven ( the larger of the two Fox Islands) in Knox County, Maine, United States. It is surrounded by a wonderful rocky landscape of spruce forests. Vinalhaven’s coasts, open space and numerous conserved areas make it a haven for migrating, breeding and overwintering sea and land birds. The area is particularly well known for Ospreys (easily photographed) as well as Atlantic Puffin, Razorbill, Black Guillemot, Double-crested Cormorant, Bald Eagle and Great Blue Heron. Spring features many warblers and other passerines such as Yellow Warbler, Common Yellowthroat and Cedar Waxwing. Plus, of course, the local lobster is reknowned!
