Location: Albena Beach Villa is another great accommodation for birders situated in the secluded part of the famed Albena sea resort. The villa lies beneath a relatively high hill and is given particular charm by the near-by alluvial forest of "Baltata". It is just 40 km from Varna airport, and has the Black Sea beach in front. In Spring, the picturesque wooded hills behind, are alive with the songs of Golden Oriole, Nightingale, Eastern Olivaceous Warbler and flycatchers, as well as hosting Hawfinch, woodpeckers and many other woodland birds. It is about 40 minutes drive from other top birding locations, including outstanding coastal wetlands close to the Romanian border and the protected steppes and cliffs of Cape Kaliakra.
Services: The villa is self-catering and is on the “Blue Flag” beach of Albena. To observe the Via Pontica flyway migration of soaring birds guests have access to the rooftop platform of the adjacent Bed & Birding partner, Hotel Arabella Beach that offers 24-hour reception, ordering taxis, postal facilities and currency exchange. The hotel also has places to eat and an outdoor pool. In addition, there is easy access to a wide range of entertainment, health spas and restaurants. A knowledgeable English and French speaking bird guide is available on request.
Guestrooms: The villa, overlooking the sea, comprises one double bedroom and one living/dining room, with well-appointed bathroom. The city of Balchik and Cape Kaliakra are both visible from the villa’s terrace.
